BFA Acting At A Glance

The BFA Acting program is among the most comprehensive in the country. Over the course of four years BFA Acting students will complete 12 acting classes, 4 voice/speech classes and at least 4 movement and Dance classes.
Freshman Year
The first year of actor training focuses on foundational work in acting, voice and movement including: The Stanislavsky System, principles of Fitzmaurice Voicework, Alexander Technique and Viewpoints.
Sophomore Year
Acting Realism, Meisner Technique, Characterization, The Style (based on the work of Theatre du Soleil and They Actors Gang) and Experiencing Speech.
*Oregon Shakespeare Intensive (summer)
Junior Year
Physical Actor Training, authentic movement, Psychological Gesture, Physicalizing, Viewpoints II, advanced Fitzmaurice Voicework, Lecoq, physical comedy, mask, Commedia and clown. Actor Artist Aesthetic, Acting for Television and Film.
* Study Abroad in London and Stratford (summer)
Senior Year
Playing Shakespeare, Acting Styles, Business of the Business, Dialects, Senior Showcase in NY
