Michelle Ney, Scenic & Costume Designer
Michelle has designed scenery and costumes for numerous theatre and opera companies, including Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Texas Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Repertory Theatre, The Colony Theatre (Los Angeles, Austin Lyric Opera and Austin Shakespeare. Recent projects include Macbeth; Bat Boy: The Musical; An Ideal Husband; The Servant of Two Masters; Much Ado About Nothing; Valparaiso; the world premiere of Romulus Linney's Going After Cacciato; Comedy of Errors; The Glass Menagerie; Two Gentlemen of Verona; Cymbeline; and Henry IV, Part I; Her designs have been published twice in TD&T, and in 1999 she was one of 36 U.S. designers whose work was exhibited in the Prague Quadrennial International Design Exhibit. Michelle is Head of Design & Technology at Texas State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Texas State, she was on the design faculties at University of Idaho, University of Texas at Austin, and St. Edward’s University. www.michelleneydesigns.com.
