Phillip Owen

Phillip Owen has designed sound for the theatre for over two decades, and has been an avid guitar player most of his life. Prior to serving as Lecturer in Sound Design at Texas State, he was the Lead Sound Engineer at the Alley Theatre in Houston. Regional credits include: Stupid F^%#ing Bird, The Whipping Man, Dollhouse, and Steel Magnolias (Stages Rep), Alley All New Play Festival featuring Miller, Mississippi, Roz & Ray, and Syncing Ink (Alley Theatre), Outside Mullingar, Noises Off, Dancing at Lughnasa (Everyman Theatre, Baltimore), Anna Christie, Kingdom of Earth, Common Enemy (Triad Stage, Greensboro), Cymbeline, Antony & Cleopatra, and Measure for Measure (Stonington Opera House, Maine), Notes from Underground (Yale Rep, La Jolla Playhouse, & Baryshnikov Arts Center), Rough Crossing (Yale Rep), and his own composition Waking (Yale Cabaret).
