"I believe vocal style is not synonymous with vocal technique; rather, we use technique to create a healthy voice that can then sing any style. As a vocal coach, I strive to put myself out of work. I collaborate with artists to build the analytical skills, functional knowledge, and developmental tools they need to become self-sufficient and thriving vocalists."
Marqui Maresca began her career as a professional performer while in high school. She graduated with a B.A. in theatre from UCLA and immediately headed to New York to begin rehearsals for the National Tour of Saturday Night Fever. While on this tour she met her husband, Michael Maresca, and after spending several years working in the industry in Los Angeles, they co-founded MMOV Studios in 2010. She began teaching for Texas State University in 2013, and in 2015 she joined the Musical Theater Voice team as a Certified One Voice Coach.
Marqui has enjoyed working in theatre, film/television, and voiceover, and some of her favorite moments include being a featured swing dancer in a Trace Adkins music video, rapping on an MTV sketch comedy, doing voice overs on projects for AT&T and CocaCola, and being a vocal soloist for conventions at the Dallas Convention Center.
