Lauren Lane has worked with some of the countries leading theatre artists: Oskar Eustis, Tim Robbins, Suzan-Lori Parks, Lisa Peterson, Ellen McLaughlin and Bob Krakower among many others. She starred in three television series: The Nanny, L.A. Law and Hunter. She has won numerous awards for her work as an actor including the LA Critics award, Austin Critics Circle award and multiple B Iden Payne awards. She has worked at major regional theatres across the country including: The Kennedy Center, Berkley Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The American Conservatory Theatre and The Mark Taper Forum. She has taught at The American Conservatory Theatre, The University of Texas, Carnegie Mellon University and Texas State University. She has been awarded the Texas State University Presidents Award for Excellence in Teaching six times. Lauren graduated from the MFA program at The American Conservatory Theatre. As Head of Acting at Texas State University she is proud to have former students currently working on Broadway, off Broadway, in Film and Television and regional theatres all over the country. Along with Head of Musical Theatre Kaitlin Hopkins, Lauren is thrilled to be a part of building a new generation of artists graduating from the performance programs at Texas State University. She is a working Mother and her favorite job has been Mom to Kate.
