About The Camps
Texas State University and the high school summer theatre camp is committed to excellence in its workshops, teaching, and productions. We are committed to the process of training and production that encourages thinking, responsive individuals in a diverse society. We view the training and practice of theatre as necessary and integral to our lives. Workshop participants, Texas State faculty, and camp staff are dedicated to providing the students an environment for optimum learning.
Texas State University will also be offering a one week film production camp.

Theatre Camp Fees:
Students staying on campus (Residents): $800
Available Scholarships:
Partial scholarships are available to students. Students who wish to apply should send a letter in requesting the aid along with a letter of recommendation from their theatre arts teacher. It should arrive no later than the May 16 deadline of the registration.
Application / Registration:
A $200 non refundable deposit made payable to Texas State Summer Theatre Camp must accompany your application by May 16, 2009. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the first day of the camp.

Auditions:
Please fill out the Student Audition Form and bring it with you the first day of camp. It is not necessary to prepare a monologue for the auditions. All of the directors will conduct auditions and cast the shows.
Housing:
Students will be housed on the Texas State University campus in residence halls.
Meals:
Meals are provided for all workshop participants in the tuition price, both for those staying in University housing and those commuting.
Arrival and Departure:
Parents are responsible for transportation to and from Texas State University.
Safety and Guidelines:
The workshop will have strict rules regarding curfew, class attendance, rehearsal etiquette, and behavior. Rule violations may result in restrictions on activities, or suspension from camp. For more detailed information, see the Student and Parent Handbook. Parents will also be required to fill out the Medical Emergency Information / Consent for Treatment Form and the Wiaver of Liability, Consent to Treatment and Picture Release Form.
