Sondheim’s ground-breaking musical comedy will be produced at Texas State’s beautiful outdoor Glade Theatre. Set in the 1970s, Company follows Robert, a 35-year-old bachelor who has been unable to commit to a long-term relationship, and his circle of married, once married, or soon-to-be married friends. Eventually, Bobby learns that relationships are not going to be perfect, but they are a necessary part of "Being Alive." The terrific music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim, winner of six Tony awards, an Academy Award, and the Pulitzer Prize.

In this ode to the American Dream, Artie’s quest for fame and fortune is thwarted by Bananas, his crazy wife, Bunny, his overbearing girlfriend, and a menagerie of other zany characters. Come follow Artie as he discovers that what we want in life is not always the same as what we need.

Macbeth

Near the site of a horrific battle, the evil sisters set in motion a course that leads to the murder of King Duncan. Macbeth seizes the crown, but the consequences of his actions cost him everything. Duncan’s sons exact their revenge on Macbeth as they battle the usurper whose decisions were inflamed by sorcery and witchraft. Along with Hamlet and Lear, Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies.

This award-winning children’s musical tells the story of Sonny Fox and his efforts to learn about the world. As he meets other animals, he learns the importance of friendship and working together. Written by Texas State professor Charles Pascoe, Foxtales has been produced to wide acclaim at the International Children’s Festival in Virginia, on tour in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and it recently took first place at an international children’s theatre festival in Belgium.
