Alpha Psi Omega
Texas State University is home to the Iota Epsilon Chapter of the theatre honor fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega.
Our Mission is to promote and strengthen theatre arts at Texas State University - San Marcos. Our goals are to provide support for the theatre arts at Texas State, to offer opportunities for increased interaction among students possessing theatrical interests, and to increase public appreciation for the value of theatre.
The pledge process begins in September and members are inducted in December. Pledges are assigned to a "BIG" during the Fall who give them assignments to be completed before each week's meeting.
Members of APO serve the theatre in a variety of ways. The concession stand that opens during intermission of all major productions is maintained by Alpha Psi Omega. In the fall of 2005, members helped facilitate the Texas State Theatre Alumni Reunion. Alpha Psi Omega also produces the annual Ramsey Awards, the "Oscars" of Texas State.
