Michelle Nance is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance.Michelle’s choreography has been commissioned and produced in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, she performed her own work in Scotland as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, 2008.Other international engagements include teaching and performing in Costa Rica, Greece, and France.Locally, she has appeared as a choreographer and performer with Austin-based, REALMdanceproject, Forklift Danceworks, and the Shay Ishii DanceCompany. Her choreography has been seen at prestigious dance festivals and venues across the U.S., including: the Big Range Dance Festival, American College Dance Festival, Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival, Boulder Creek Festival, Dance for the Planet, Barefoot Brigade, Hunter College Legacy Series, the New York International Fringe Festival, the Minnesota Fringe Festival, and Field Day (NY).From 1996-1998, she served as Assistant School Director, teacher, and understudy with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company. Michelle holds an MFA from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
