
Kaysie Seitz Brown holds a Lecturer position in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University. Current courses include Dance as an Art Form as well as Materials for Rhythmical Activities which uses rhythmical movement exploration as a basis of developing basic movement skills, fitness, and dance activities for teaching children. She also teaches a variety of beginning and intermediate technique courses.
Brown received her MFA at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. While in Cleveland, she joined Antaeus Dance Company with whom she toured to the country of Estonia for the company’s international debut. From 2003 – 2005 she worked as a teaching artist in NYC, integrating dance into the curriculum at elementary schools throughout the five boroughs. She also choreographed and performed with the company Notes In Motion as well as with other choreographers and on her own.
She has danced the works of Erick Hawkins, Kelly Holt, Karen Earl, Katri Shaller, Joan Meggitt, Karen Potter and Michelle Nance among many others. Her own choreography has been produced in Texas, Ohio, New Jersey, New York and Costa Rica. Brown continues her love of working with children as a dance teacher with Dance Associates in Austin where she also dances with the Shay Ishii Dance Company.
