Toby Minor

Toby Minor is the Stage Combat instructor for the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University. He has been certified Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) for 16 years. He has choreographed violence at Texas State for Romeo and Juliet, Fool For Love, Norma's Rest, A Flea In Her Ear, A View From the Bridge, Evita, and Titus. He has choreographed at the Zach Theatre for Peter and the Starcatcher, One Man Two Governors, and was nominated for a B. Iden Payne Award for Best Fight Choreography. He has also been nominated for The History of King Lear at Hidden Room Theatre (This show has been invited to perform at the Globe Theatre in London). Toby won a B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Fight Choreography for Rose Rage and for Fight Choreography for Coriolanus with Trinity Street Players. Toby was also nominated for the International Falstaff Award for Fight Choreography for his choreography in Hamlet with Austin Shakespeare Theatre. His other acting credits include several short films and a rather lengthy list of stage productions in Austin, Chicago, Colorado and many points in between, working with theatres, such as, Creed Repertory, Chicago Shakespeare, Stage Left Theatre, Looking Glass, Zach, Hidden Room, Penfold Theatre, and many more.
