Costume Design

Costumes

The Costume Program in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University trains artists to simultaneously be meticulous technicians and sophisticated designers, a combination allowing its graduates maximum flexibility upon commencement.  The program’s course of study celebrates the individual qualities of its students while engaging in their artistic development and is equitably practical and theoretical in its approach to design and production.  We look to provide students with the needed foundation to be innovative practitioners in the field of design and production of clothing for the entertainment industries.

Faculty and staff with extensive professional experience provide specialized mentorship with the goal of preparing the students for employment in top theatres throughout the nation. Design internships include assisting a professional costume designer at Zach Theatre, the preeminent theatre in Austin, as well as a national opportunity.
