Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Requirement

The Theatre History and Criticism and Dramaturgy MA degree programs require an official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score to be submitted prior to admission consideration with a preferred score of 300.  If you took the GRE within the last five years and prior to the new examination, the following preferred scores will be considered - 900 (verbal and quantitative combined) for Dramaturgy and History and Criticism. The GRE score is valid for five years after the exam date.  GRE scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey, to our Graduate College.  The college code for Texas State is 006667.  The Educational Testing Service can be contacted at www.ets.org/gre.  Texas State applicants are required to take only the General Test.

The M.F.A. programs do not require the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).
